VOLUNTEER SERVICE AT OLD SAVANNAH CITY MISSION, NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART
With a staff of seven employees and about thirty students (i.e. those enrolled in the Mission’s Urban Training Institute, a one-year residential program) Old Savannah City Mission needs a lot of help…from volunteers.
The opportunities for volunteer service are not for the faint of heart. There is so much to be done. Only volunteers who are ready to work need to apply. Jim Lewis is making a special appeal for willing workers. Service opportunities range from administrative services, to retail service in the Mission’s thrift shop, Dorcas & Esther’s to the warehouse and to the kitchen.
If this tugs at your heart, it would be good to check it out. Make a personal visit before making a commitment. If you tour the Mission and see what is being accomplished on a shoe-string budget, you will want to get on board.
Again, volunteering at Old Savannah City Mission is not for the faint-hearted people.
